Mortadella Pizza: A Slice of Italian Heaven
When it comes to Italian delicacies, mortadella is a true standout. Known for its smooth texture and delicate, rich flavor, mortadella is a type of heat-cured ham that is beloved across Italy. It’s traditionally made without any artificial additives, so you can rest assured that what you're eating is the real deal — a flavorful, all-natural deli meat that embodies the essence of Italian craftsmanship. Mortadella is so popular in Italy, it’s often considered a symbol of authenticity and quality in Italian charcuterie.
Now, let's talk about how we’ve elevated this Italian favorite to new heights on pizza. Mortadella is a perfect pizza topping, but to truly preserve its unique flavor, we add it after the pizza is baked. Thinly sliced and added to the warm pizza just out of the oven, it becomes the perfect complement to a rich, creamy truffle sauce.
Brad is the masterminds behind this combination. He has created a pizza that pairs mortadella with a decadent truffle sauce, gooey burrata, and a punch of pesto — a match made in pizza heaven. It's one of his all-time favourites, and we’re excited to share it with you!

Why Mortadella?
Mortadella has a rich history in Italy, originating in Bologna, and has been enjoyed for centuries as a symbol of craftsmanship and quality. It’s made from finely ground pork, lightly flavored with spices, and often studded with pistachios. The result is a creamy, melt-in-your-mouth texture that’s perfect for layering onto a pizza after it’s baked.
When you add it to a pizza, the heat of the crust gently warms the mortadella, making it even more tender, while the flavor stays delicate and savoury, creating the perfect balance with the other ingredients.
This pizza is a wonderful way to experience the flavours of Italy in one bite. We hope you love it as much as Brad and Sam do!
